It has been more than thirty years now that the American Museum of Natural History has decorated the Museum’s Christmas tree only with origami animals. It’s a MUST SEE!
On display from November 19th 2012 to January 6th 2013, 500 little creatures (from bacteria to giraffes) hang from the tree.
Extremely patient volunteers started folding paper in July creating these delightful little animals, bravissimi!!!
“General Admission” to the AMNH is a $19 “suggested donation”… However, it’s up to you to decide how much you want to donate, but only if you go to the ticket office (machines don’t allow you to choose a donation amount less than the suggested amount).
In case you want to see all the special exhibitions, the Museum and Rose Center for Earth and Space and go to IMAX films and the Hayden Planetarium Space Show you have to pay for a full price $33 ticket (Children 2-12: $20.50).
The Museum is extraordinary, and you can spend the whole day wandering through it the multitude of exhibitions without getting bored. But if you only want to see this amazing Origami Tree I suggest that you go at 4.45pm
…You can ALWAYS enter FOR FREE during the last hour the Museum is open 🙂
