Thank you New York City for all these emotions!
Today around 1pm, the Hot Sardines, an extraordinary “Hot Jazz” band, played their first notes. Along with a group of epoch swing dancers, they catapulted us all – including those who were there by chance – into a different era.
The Holidays Special Nostalgia Train is already impressive by itself… the music, party and costumes madeSunday’s journey even more fascinating and exciting!
I met Minù and Berta, two girls in vintage clothes (the first one was dancing, the second one was drawing) on the 2nd Avenue subway stop’s platform; they were thrilled! Only in New York you are able to get this kind of FULL vintage experience; everybody truly dresses up like in the old days and in a instant, together with the Nostalgia Train and the Hot Jazz Band, you transported back in time.
The audience also takes part in this time traveling, fully participating trough dancing, singing, clapping and squeezing themselves like a “real sardine” into the train car in order to take a vintage train ride with the Hot Sardines 😀
Photos and videos cannot really express all the emotions we experienced on Sunday, however I hope you can still enjoy them and get a feel for what it was like to experience this event in person!
In this last picture I asked Miz Elisabeth, The Hot Sardines’ singer, to pose with me… Thank you for the AMAZING Sunday!!!
